Job description

*Job Overview*
Dion J. Custis, P.C., an established solo practice, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented *Part-Time Attorney* to assist with a robust Criminal Law and Personal Injury caseload spanning Wyoming and Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking for flexibility, hands-on experience, and direct mentorship, with a clear trajectory toward a full-time position and future partnership.
*Responsibilities*
* Manage and support cases in criminal defense and personal injury across WY and CO jurisdictions.
* Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
* Represent clients in criminal defense and personal injury cases, ensuring their rights are protected throughout the legal process
* Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and client correspondence with precision and clarity
* Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
* Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case strategies, and coordinating with experts when necessary
* Maintain detailed case files and documentation in accordance with law office procedures
*Experience*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
* Proven experience or strong interest in criminal defense and personal injury law
* Demonstrated ability to draft clear legal documents and conduct thorough legal research
* Prior experience working in a law office environment with exposure to litigation processes is advantageous
* Excellent negotiation skills combined with strong written communication abilities
* Licensed and in good standing to practice law in *Wyoming and/or Colorado* (dual licensure is a major plus).
