Job description

Be Creative…at Creative Dining Services! 

Creative Dining Services is currently seeking a Service Manager to join our team at Wooster College in Wooster, OH.  The Service Manager will work within the Dining Services Department to ensure that excellence in customer service is being provided throughout the operation, while assuring that food is presented attractively, and in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner

Core Responsibilities of the Service Manager:

  • Participates in hiring, training, scheduling, time keeping, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions of service/FOH staff
  • Under the direction of the Dining Services Director, supervises and coordinates all service activities within the operation
  • Maintains an organized system of comprehensive record keeping
  • Communicates menu offerings in an attractive and effective manner, paying attention to potential special dietary needs of the customer
  • Plans for and implements corporate marketing initiatives, maintains complete records of special  events and pace changers in the operation, providing marketing summaries to the CDS home office upon completion
  • Maintains established food presentation and service standards
  • Participates with Food Committee meetings

  • Maintains good public relations with all customers, clients, staff, vendors, and the community; achieves high levels of customer and client satisfaction

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • College degree in Hospitality preferred 
  • 3 years management & leadership experience of a team of 20+ people
  • Must be able to use MS Word, Excel, Power Point
  • ServSafe Certification
