Job description

Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the Lead In-Room Dining Order Taker assists with all In-Room Dining department responsibilities. Aids in leading a team of attendants by providing direction, training, and support while ensuring excellent customer service that is in alignment with Yaamava' Resort & Casino Brand Standards. Responsible for coordinating guest orders and deliveries, amenities, requests, and special event needs. Collaborates and coordinates with the culinary team acting as an extension of leadership. Assists with maintaining proper inventory, product accuracy, and adhering to the responsible sale and service of alcoholic beverages. Ensures consistent Best in Class experience in alignment with the goals and priorities of the Tribe.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides oversight of all aspects of the In-Room Dining guest experience and department programs and policies. Serves as an extension to the In-Room Dining leadership team assists management and team as needed to ensure quality service and smooth daily operations
2. Coordinates the needs of the guest to the kitchen staff, attendants, and other departments while escalating any guest or team member concerns to leadership.
3. Oversees assignment of team member tasks while monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness of the venue. Assists and confirms all appropriate side work duties are being performed during operations as necessary.
4. Is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of amenities, special requests, and VIP activity during operations.
5. Assists with communicating and administering new training material to current team members while overseeing the training of new team members.
6. Assists with delivering food & beverage orders, delivering amenities and collecting and resetting tables and all necessary side work.
7. Audits cash register transactions to verify proper documentation of comps, voids, and discounts. Responsible for completing order taker's shift reports and resets.
8. Is responsible for creating a memorable guest experience by providing exceptional service to every patron; interacts and engages.
9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the ecient operation of the department.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of food and beverage experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively to communicate with guests, team members, and management.
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems, including InfoGenesis, Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), or similar platforms.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business-related software applications.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must be able to manage cash transactions accurately and securely.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and manage competing demands.
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and effectively with guests, team members, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess situations quickly, exercise sound judgment, and make accurate decisions in a timely manner.
  • Delivers friendly, efficient, and responsive service while effectively addressing guest and team member needs and concerns.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while maintaining efficient, best-in-class service standards during busy periods.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's card.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
  • No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver's license or insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled Casino & Resort setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
