LVMG- Dining Services Associate- Clinical

Join Our Team at Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant! We're currently seeking dedicated Part Time Dining Services Associate- Clinicals to become part of our caring and mission-driven community. This position requires availability on varying weekdays and participation in an every-other-weekend rotation. Scheduled hours may be either 3:30pm–7:30pm or 6:30am–2:30pm, depending on departmental needs.

The Dining Services Associate is responsible for supporting the preparation, service, and delivery of meals in accordance with established dietary guidelines, sanitation standards, and facility policies. This role involves direct interaction with residents and staff and plays a key role in ensuring a positive dining experience for all.

What You'll Do as an LVMG Dining Services Associate - Clinical:

  • Provide excellent customer service and support a positive dining experience.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control, and dietary guidelines.
  • Prepare meals according to recipes, production sheets, and therapeutic diet requirements.
  • Operate kitchen equipment and assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Deliver meals, assist with menu selections, and ensure dietary compliance.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized workstations, equipment, and service areas.
  • Ensure food quality, proper portions, presentation standards, and inventory rotation.
  • Communicate resident and dietary updates accurately and professionally.
  • Protect resident confidentiality and report concerns to appropriate staff.
  • Participate in meal service, training sessions, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need as a Dining Services Associate - Clinical:

Education | Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent or current enrollment in high school.
  • At least 1 year experience in hospital, restaurant, or continuing care retirement community (CCRC) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public.
  • Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care.
  • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology.
  • Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations.
  • Physically able to move throughout the workday and lift items up to 35 pounds using safe handling practices.
  • May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
  • Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.
