Job description

Friendship is looking for a Part-Time Dining Associate to join our Friendship Assisted Living team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Dining Associate is responsible for providing food service to residents under sanitary conditions, assist in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures, and maintain open communication and established procedures as directed by your supervisor.

Shift:

  • Weekend hours, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepares beverages for residents
  • Assist with delivery of food items to residents when needed
  • Clean and sanitize all areas in dining room, and designed “back of house” areas such as stock rooms, employee bathroom and chemical storage areas.
  • Occasionally operates as dishwasher
  • Correctly and safely operates kitchen equipment and utensils for food preparation, service and cleaning (ex: dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator, freezers, carts, serving utensils, blender can open, coffee makers, toasters, etc.)
  • Serves meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner based on menu selected items
  • Abide by facility policies and procedures as well as laws and regulations related to food safety and sanitation
  • Serves meals to residents according to diet list for each resident; ensures that meals are complete and processed per individual requirements and requests per diet orders (i.e. puree diets)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service experience preferred
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
