Job description

Overview

Video Producer (DTRA PAO)

Bowhead is seeking a Senior Video Producer for the upcoming DTRA PAO contract in Fort Belvoir, VA. In this role, you will lead the creative development, scripting, and production oversight of high-value video content that communicates the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's mission to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, interagency partners, and international allies.

Responsibilities
  • Research and develop high-level narratives articulating the agency's mission, history, and strategic value
  • Develop accurate, engaging scripts for video features, animations, PSAs, and senior leader presentations, translating complex technical data into clear language
  • Direct and capture high-quality studio/field video, lighting, audio, and on-camera interviews
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and multimedia producers to ensure technical accuracy and effective storytelling
  • Provide editorial oversight and quality control for all video content, including scripts, on-screen text, and multimedia graphics
  • Perform final technical and compliance quality control, including Section 508, OPSEC, and DoD Visual Information standards
  • Verify frame-accurate cuts, audio leveling/mixing, color grading consistency, and graphics rendering
  • Ensure all narratives and final products strictly align with SecWar priorities and agency messaging objectives
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Film Production, Digital Media, or related field
  • 5–10 years experience in professional video production and narrative development
  • Experience directing field/studio shoots, lighting, audio capture, and editorial oversight
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear visual storytelling
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition)
  • Strong understanding of Section 508 accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of DoD VI guidelines and security/OPSEC compliance practices
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Target salary is $75,000- $100,000 commensurate with experience
