Job description

Our client is an independent lifestyle retail brand built on thoughtful design, storytelling, and a strong sense of place. As the digital side of the business continues to scale, they are hiring a Digital Merchandising and eCommerce Manager to own the online storefront and make it perform like their strongest store.

Position Overview

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a growing brand's digital storefront and treat it as what it truly is, one of the company's most important stores. First, you will own the ecommerce experience from A to Z, from homepage creative and collection merchandising to conversion optimization and performance reporting, with the autonomy to shape how the brand shows up online. Second, this role sits at the intersection of creative, merchandising, and data, a blend that is hard to find and even harder to do well, giving you the chance to pair strong visual instincts with the analytics that prove what is working. Third, the position carries real visibility, partnering directly with Creative, Marketing, Buying, and Operations while giving leadership a clear line of sight into digital performance and growth opportunities. As the digital business grows, so does the scope of this role, offering a clear path to expanded ownership and leadership within the ecommerce function.

Position Responsibilities
  • Own the day-to-day management and merchandising of the ecommerce site, ensuring it is accurate, current, beautifully merchandised, and optimized at all times to drive conversion and revenue.
  • Build, organize, and regularly refresh product collections, navigation, and landing pages based on launches, seasonality, inventory, and customer behavior, and ensure new products go live accurately and on time with complete imagery, information, pricing, and tagging.
  • Own the ecommerce execution calendar for product launches, promotions, and major brand moments, partnering with Creative and Marketing to brief, build, and QA every website asset so each launch goes live accurately and on schedule.
  • Translate larger brand campaigns into a cohesive onsite experience that stays aligned with email, SMS, social, and other customer touchpoints.
  • Continually evaluate the customer journey to identify friction and conversion opportunities, using heat maps, click behavior, and navigation data to inform A/B tests across merchandising, navigation, landing pages, product pages, and calls to action.
  • Own reporting on core eCommerce metrics, including revenue, conversion rate, average order value, revenue per visitor, product and collection performance, and cart and checkout abandonment, and deliver regular, actionable insights to leadership.
  • Partner with Buying and Planning to share digital selling insights that inform inventory and assortment decisions, and establish benchmarks and goals for key site KPIs to measure progress over time.
  • Serve as the internal owner of the eCommerce platform and related tools, managing site QA across desktop and mobile, prioritizing the mobile shopping experience, and evaluating apps, integrations, and developer partners that improve performance and revenue.
Position Qualifications
  • A demonstrated track record of heavily managing a high-volume eCommerce website and driving measurable improvements in conversion and revenue.
  • Four to six or more years of eCommerce experience, ideally within a DTC, fashion, apparel, accessories, lifestyle, or consumer retail brand.
  • Strong Shopify experience, paired with a solid understanding of eCommerce merchandising and the customer shopping journey.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics/GA4 and eCommerce reporting, along with behavioral analytics and heat mapping tools such as Hotjar, Lucky Orange, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of conversion rate optimization and A/B testing, with the analytical ability to turn data into clear, actionable recommendations.
