Job description

Position Overview

Power your Future with Qualus as a Senior Telecommunications Engineer. Our Telecommunication Engineers focus on complex engineering designs, BOM's, and construction packages for telecommunications solutions for power utility infrastructure while providing client support throughout the construction process. Responsibilities include engineering design, verifying implementation feasibility, documenting site details, and collaborating within a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Research and create engineering designs of complex telecommunications solutions, preferably in the Power/Utility industry.
  • Create designs and full construction packages for robust telecommunications solutions using Fiber, Microwave, SONET MUX, MHz, Radio, FAN, Circuits, Power, Switches, Routers, TCP/IP, and subtending devices.
  • Develop and document detailed project plans for programs involving cross-functional teams and challenging requirements.
  • Create and markup SLDs, interconnect diagrams, WAN, LAN, tower drawings, etc.
  • Multitask and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with facilities, engineering, and systems administration teams.
  • Use Adobe Pro, Excel, Visio, and MS Office suite to create detailed documentation and designs.
Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or 8+ years of relevant job experience). 
  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, with experience in Substation or Distribution preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in researching and designing complex telecommunication solutions.
  • 2+ years of project management experience with a proven ability to manage tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of success and delivering results.
  • Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics in managing functions and projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills conducive to team development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exposure to Bentley MicroStation is  plus.
  • Mut be able to pass a NERC level background check.
