Job description

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Production Artist to join our digital print production team. In this role, you will prepare, optimize, and finalize artwork specifically for digital printing workflows. You’ll ensure files are production-ready for high-speed digital presses, large-format equipment, and multi-substrate output while maintaining color accuracy, brand consistency, and tight turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and preflight customer and internal files for digital print production (business cards, marketing collateral, packaging prototypes, banners, signage, direct mail, etc.)
• Optimize files for digital presses (CMYK/RGB conversion, color management, resolution, transparency flattening, font embedding, bleed/margin setup)
• Perform color correction, image retouching, and layout adjustments to meet digital print standards
• Create and manage print-ready PDFs and imposed files
• Resize, version, and adapt artwork across multiple sizes, substrates, and finishing options
• Collaborate with press operators, finishers, and account managers to resolve file issues quickly
• Maintain accurate job tickets, file organization, and version control
• Troubleshoot common digital print problems (banding, color shifts, registration, substrate-specific issues)
• Support rush jobs and maintain high quality under deadline pressure


Qualifications


• experience as a Prepress Technician, or Digital Print File Prep specialist
• experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
• knowledge of digital printing processes, color management (ICC profiles, soft proofing), and prepress best practices
• Experience preparing files for digital presses
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to catch technical errors before they reach the press
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities
