Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our engineering team and evolve our React web application, already live in production. There are plans to integrate it with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) in a headless model — content delivered via GraphQL, with authors editing directly on live pages through the AEM Universal Editor. The role requires strong TypeScript/React experience and comfort working across both the existing codebase and the new AEM integration.

Responsibilities:

Frontend Development

  • Maintain and extend the existing React application, written in TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Write clean, well-structured, and well-tested code
  • Follow established frontend architecture patterns, coding standards, and development practices
  • Optimise application performance — code-splitting and lazy-loading of heavy components, efficient component-level data fetching, and Core Web Vitals (especially LCP on media-heavy pages)
  • Build responsive, accessible interfaces in line with WCAG standards
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup, testing strategy, and the wider development lifecycle

AEM Headless Integration

  • Integrate the React application with AEM in a headless model, fetching content via GraphQL (persisted queries)
  • Instrument React components with Universal Editor data attributes so authors can edit content directly on live pages
  • Collaborate with AEM backend developers on content fragment models and GraphQL schemas
  • Maintain a clear separation between the frontend presentation layer and the AEM content layer

Code Quality and Delivery

  • Take part in code reviews and code audits, providing practical feedback and clear follow-up actions
  • Drive refactoring and modernization work, keeping code quality consistent across the codebase
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and technical decision-making

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, AEM backend developers, and QA Engineers
  • Explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years in frontend development for consumer-facing web applications
  • Strong experience building and maintaining large-scale web applications
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Good working knowledge of React, including hooks, component lifecycle, and performance optimization
  • Experience with state management libraries such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or MobX
  • Working knowledge of CSS-in-JS, CSS Modules, or Tailwind CSS
  • Proficiency with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous programming
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar tooling
  • Understanding of web performance principles, accessibility standards (WCAG), and responsive design
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress or Playwright
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS)
  • Hands-on experience with AEM in a headless model — content fragments, GraphQL, Universal Editor
  • Experience with monorepo tooling such as Nx or Turborepo
  • Familiarity with micro-frontend architecture patterns
  • Experience with analytics tooling such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or LogRocket
  • Contributions to open-source frontend projects

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary and benefits package
  • The chance to work on a high-profile web platform for a globally recognized brand
  • A role with real ownership over the technical direction of a core digital product
  • A collaborative team that values quality and practical delivery
