Their duties often include project planning, timeline management, stakeholder communication, and performance tracking to optimize digital transformation efforts.

What are some common challenges digital program managers face when coordinating cross-functional teams?

Digital Program Managers often encounter challenges in aligning goals and timelines across diverse teams such as development, marketing, and design. Communication gaps and shifting priorities can create roadblocks, requiring the Program Manager to proactively facilitate collaboration and keep everyone focused on shared objectives. Balancing stakeholder expectations while managing resource constraints is also a frequent hurdle, but effective planning and transparent updates help mitigate these issues. Building strong relationships and maintaining clear documentation are key strategies for overcoming these challenges.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital program manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Program Manager, you need expertise in project management, digital strategy, and cross-functional leadership, often supported by a relevant degree and certifications like PMP or Agile. Datavant is the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare. Guided by our mission to make the world's health data secure, accessible and actionable, we provide critical data solutions for organizations across the healthcare ecosystem - including providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. From fulfilling a single patient's request for their medical records to powering the AI revolution in healthcare, Datavanters are building the future of how data is connected and used to improve health.
By joining Datavant today, you're stepping onto a driven and highly collaborative team that is passionate about creating transformative change in healthcare.

What We're Looking For:

As a member of our Digital Operations team, you will help deliver value to our clients through successful implementation, execution, and support of our digital products. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to coordinate projects, support implementation activities, and ensure successful outcomes throughout the project lifecycle. You'll partner with Client Success, Sales, Product, Engineering, Analytics, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, solve problems, and identify opportunities to improve our products and processes.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, customer-focused, and eager to grow their expertise in healthcare technology, digital operations, and program management.

You Will:
  • Support the implementation and execution of digital products by coordinating project activities, tracking milestones, monitoring progress, and helping ensure successful delivery of client outcomes.
  • Manage a portfolio of low-to-medium complexity digital programs and client projects, ensuring timely execution and a high-quality customer experience.
  • Partner with clients to understand program requirements, gather information, and support successful onboarding and implementation activities.
  • Assist with data validation, project tracking, reporting, and analysis to help drive informed decision-making and program success.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Client Success, Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations teams to resolve issues, remove obstacles, and improve client outcomes.
  • Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities within assigned projects and escalate appropriately to drive timely resolution.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to workflows, tools, and client experiences.
  • Support documentation, training, and knowledge-sharing efforts to improve team effectiveness and operational consistency.
  • Build expertise in digital program operations, healthcare workflows, and Datavant products to effectively support customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives that support the growth and success of our digital products and programs.
What You Will Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent professional experience in healthcare, operations, client success, project management, or related fields.
  • 3-6 years of experience in operations, project management, client success, consulting, healthcare, or customer-facing roles.
  • Experience managing projects, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, or supporting client implementations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage technical, operational, and client stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to quickly learn technical concepts, healthcare workflows, and digital product capabilities.
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally to achieve shared goals.

Bonus Points If:

  • You have experience working in healthcare, health plans, provider organizations, or healthcare technology.
  • You have exposure to risk adjustment, quality programs, payment integrity, medical record retrieval, or related healthcare operations.
  • You have experience supporting SaaS, digital health, interoperability, or data-driven products.
  • You have worked with reporting or analytics tools such as Sigma, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • You have experience participating in process improvement initiatives or continuous improvement programs.
  • You have experience supporting client implementations, onboarding, or customer success programs.
