Senior IT Digital Program Manager

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Senior IT Digital Program Manager, you will lead complex, multimilliondollar digital initiatives from initial concept through production launch. You will drive enterprisewide technical programs, manage crossfunctional delivery teams, and ensure alignment with 3M's strategic objectives. In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading endtoend delivery of largescale, complex Digital IT programs, including inception, planning, execution, and production rollout.

  • Managing multiple interconnected projects under a unified program structure, ensuring technical alignment and coordinated delivery.

  • Overseeing complex technical implementations and partnering with IT, engineering, and business teams to ensure successful integration.

  • Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders up to the SVP level, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and timely decisionmaking.

  • Collaborating with functional leaders to build highperforming program teams and ensure clear ownership across workstreams.

  • Identifying program risks and dependencies early, implementing proactive mitigation strategies, and maintaining program stability.

  • Managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring delivery quality aligns with program goals and sourcing requirements.

  • Owning program financials, including forecasting, tracking, and ensuring accountability for multimilliondollar budgets.

  • Driving transparent, structured program reporting to leadership, enabling informed decisions and predictable delivery outcomes.

  • Demonstrating strong conflictresolution skills and maintaining program momentum through ambiguity and complex stakeholder dynamics.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  • Fifteen (15) years IT professional (or similar) experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

  • Five (5) years' experience in significant leadership roles on complex global programs in a private, public, government or military environment.

  • Five (5) years' experience in overseeing global teams in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing teams within a matrixed organization.

  • Experience in vendor management, including contract negotiations and evaluation of vendor performance.

  • Proficiency in budget management ($1M+), with a proven track record of maximizing resource efficiency and cost savings.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Proven track record of strategic planning and execution, with a focus on delivering results.

  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives.

  • Financial acumen and experience in managing multi-million dollar budgets and financial reporting.

  • PMI PMP and/or PgMP certification

Work location - On site at least 4 days a week at one of these sites:

  • Maplewood, MN

  • Austin, TX

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international (Depending on candidate location and Program assignment)
