Summer Art Instructor (Part-Time) Port Jefferson, NY

One River School of Art + Design
$20–$30 per hour

One River School of Art + Design is seeking creative, enthusiastic art teachers to lead summer art programs for students in Grades K–12.

This role is ideal for art educators, teaching artists, and practicing creatives who enjoy working with young artists and are excited to teach a variety of contemporary art classes in a fun, studio-based environment.

Our summer programs are designed to feel like real artist studios—exploratory, skill-building, and inspiring. Teachers have the opportunity to introduce students to both traditional and contemporary creative practices while helping them develop confidence and artistic voice.




What You’ll Do

Lead engaging, hands-on art classes for elementary, middle and high school students during our summer session.

Depending on your experience and interests, classes may include:

• Street Art & Spray Painting Techniques
• Digital Art & Illustration (Procreate, Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, Moho)
• 3D Modeling & Creative Design
• Resin Art & Mixed Media
• Cosplay Costume & Character Design
• Painting & Drawing Fundamentals
• Watercolor & Portraiture
• Manga & Cartooning
• Fabric Arts & Textile Design

Teachers guide students through creative projects, skill-building exercises, and collaborative studio experiences that encourage experimentation, problem-solving, and artistic growth.

Schedules may include weekday daytime classes and some evenings, making this an excellent summer opportunity for art teachers.

Who You Are

• An art teacher or practicing artist with teaching experience
• Comfortable teaching multiple art mediums or creative disciplines
• Enthusiastic about working with middle and high school students
• Passionate about helping students develop creative confidence and artistic skills
• Organized, engaging, and collaborative




Education & Experience

• BFA or BS in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field preferred
• Teaching experience with children or teens
• Experience in multiple art disciplines such as digital art, painting, illustration, street art, sculpture, or textile arts is highly valued
