WROC-TV/RochesterFirst.cominRochester,New York is hiring a Hybrid Content Creator/ProductionDirectorwho is responsible for researching, planning, and creating content for news programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and knowledge of AP style

  • Creates engaging stories, videos, and imagery for our viewers specific to platforms

  • Code and Direct daily live local newscasts and other live and prerecorded productions using Ross OverDrive and ENPS

  • Stream live and prerecorded productions using OBS Studio

  • Work closely with News Producers, Photographers, Engineers, and otherDirectors to enhance our final on-air product

  • Work well in a collaborative team environment; multitasking, problem-solving, and making last-minute decisions under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Be self-sufficient, managing multiple projects with competing priorities

  • Perform other job-related requests and duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience is preferred

  • Basic photography, videography and editing experience

  • Experience in news operations and/or production is preferred

  • Experience with cross-platform live streaming is preferred

  • Ross OverDrive, ENPS, Adobe Premiere, and OBS experience a plus

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills; fluent in English, oral and written

  • Available to work all shifts (mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays), as well as extended hours as assigned

Compensation: $17 - $18 an hour commensuratewithapplicant's experience and skill level.
