Job description


The Team
We are seeking a Supplier Performance Manager to join American Tower's Supply Chain Management organization's Sourcing and Vendor Management team. The team drives excellence in supplier relationships through performance monitoring, contract compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Day to day you will ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations, adhere to health and safety standards, and deliver consistent value. As a Supplier Performance Manager, you will lead efforts to monitor supplier performance, manage compliance, mitigate risk, and champion improvement initiatives across the supplier base.

  • Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and key performance indicators aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with strategic suppliers.
  • Identify performance gaps and lead corrective action plans.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the supplier base.
  • Monitor and communicate supplier adherence to contractual terms and service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Procurement teams to resolve compliance issues.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for supplier performance and compliance.
  • Participate in supplier contract negotiations to ensure terms have a plan of action for monitoring and enforcing.
  • Monitor supplier adherence to health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Partner with Environmental Health and Safety teams to conduct supplier audits and risk assessments.
  • Drive remediation plans for non-compliance and safety violations.
  • Assess the financial stability and risk exposure of key suppliers.
  • Work with Finance and Risk teams to monitor credit ratings, payment terms, and financial health indicators.
  • Escalate and mitigate risks that could impact supply continuity or business operations.
  • Collaborate with Third-Party Risk Management ("TPRM") teams to evaluate and onboard key suppliers in line with risk frameworks to ensure suppliers meet cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support periodic risk reviews and reporting for critical vendors.
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on suppliers' performances and risk statuses.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and dashboards.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve supplier-related issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of supplier management, sourcing, or procurement experience required.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, compliance, and risk management required.
  • Supplier scorecard, performance metrics, and corrective action planning experience required.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards and financial risk analysis required.
  • Knowledge of TPRM frameworks and tools required.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills required.
  • Proficiency in supplier management platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) preferred.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or similar continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within agreed-upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
