Senior Digital Experience Designer

Senior Digital Experience Designer

Icreon

Manhattan, NY • On-site

Full-time

Job description

About the Role
Icreon is looking for a Senior Digital Experience Designer who operates at the intersection of design, technology, and AI. This is not a production role - it's a concepting and prototyping role. You will define how new digital experiences are designed and built, working closely with engineers and directly with clients across both new business pursuits and existing accounts.
At a Glance
Reports To: CXO
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Split: 50% new business pursuits / 50% existing client accounts
Type: Full-Time
What You Will Do
Concept and Design Next-Gen Experiences - Translate product ideas and emerging technologies into novel interaction models. Work early in the product lifecycle to define experience direction, not just screens.
Design Through Prototypes - Move beyond static mockups. Rapidly iterate using Figma, Framer, and AI-assisted tools. Evolve prototypes into production-ready artifacts alongside engineering.
Engineer Collaboration - Pair with engineers to design through code. Co-create experiences that balance design thinking with technical feasibility and shorten the design-to-build loop.
Platform Experience - Design digital experiences for Sitecore and Optimizely platforms, as well as custom digital products.
Client Communication - Translate complexity into clear narratives for CMOs, CTOs, and C-suite stakeholders in B2B environments. Contribute to product thinking and roadmap discussions.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
  • 5+ years in UX, product, service, or interaction design
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and complex interaction design - not just polish
  • Proven experience working side-by-side with engineers in product teams
  • Familiarity with design systems, front-end constraints, and technical workflows

Capabilities
  • Systems thinker - you design behaviors and product logic, not just individual screens
  • Fast, iterative operator - you prototype to think, not just to present
  • Strong communicator - you can tell the story of a design decision to both engineers and C-suite stakeholders
  • Mastery of modern prototyping platforms

AI Fluency
Icreon is seeing significant gains in leveraging AI across our team from autonomous engineering to agentic process re-architecture. Someone in this role is expected to get their hands dirty day-in and day-out and staying at the vanguard of where this industry is moving. Ways in which we're expecting this role to incorporate AI into the department
  • Workflow integration - Uses AI tools (Claude Code, Design, Runway, Higgsfield, Krea, ComfyUI, Pencil, or equivalent) as active parts of the design process, not occasional experiments
  • AI-enabled experience design - Has a point of view on how AI reshapes interaction models and interface patterns - and can prototype that thinking, not just describe it
  • Ideation and generation - Uses AI to accelerate concept exploration: generating visual directions, interaction variants, copy, and motion references faster than traditional methods allow
  • Tooling and automation - Has built or contributed to custom AI workflows that reduce repetitive design work - template generation, asset creation, annotation, handoff documentation
  • Emerging interface patterns - Actively explores what AI-native product experiences look like and can bring that perspective into client conversations credibly

The bar is not curiosity. It's demonstrated, habitual use with a track record of it showing up in the work.
