Job description

Urban Outfitters is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Associate to join our dynamic Outbound marketing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and optimizing email campaigns, ensuring they are visually appealing, responsive, and meet the highest industry standards. You will work closely with designers, marketers, and other developers to bring email marketing strategies to life.


  • Email & Channel Development: Build, test, and deploy responsive, visually appealing HTML emails for a variety of email marketing campaigns (potential for expansion into other digital channels).
  • Email Optimization: Ensure emails are optimized for all devices and email clients (e.g., Outlook, Gmail, mobile, etc.) with a focus on seamless user experiences.
  • Coding & Scripting: Write clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for email templates, using industry best practices for email rendering.
  • Email Automation: Integrate email templates into automation platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Salesforce, HubSpot, Bluecore) and support the setup of automated workflows.
  • A/B Testing: Conduct tests to improve email deliverability, open rates, and click-through rates, and analyze the results for continuous optimization.
  • Email & Channel Performance Analytics: Collaborate with the marketing team to analyze email campaign metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with graphic designers and content creators to ensure email content is aligned with brand standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues related to email rendering, deliverability, and platform compatibility.

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in email development or a related role, with a portfolio showcasing your email development skills.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for email templates.
    • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Bluecore.
    • Experience with responsive email design techniques.
    • Understanding of email deliverability and inbox placement best practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure quality and consistency across campaigns.
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve issues with cross-client email rendering.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze email performance data and use insights to optimize future campaigns.
