Job Summary:ย  Dental Lab Technicianย ย 

The Dental Lab Technician works in the dental lab in the process of fabricating dental prosthetics as ordered by the provider.ย  This position is for a progressive dental lab with a high volume of implant retained dentures.ย 

Duties and Responsibilitiesย 

  • Creates accurate models or prosthetics as ordered by the provider from the digital scan or dental impressions provided.ย 

  • Fabricates implant retained prosthetics, removable dentures, partials, crowns, bridges, occlusal guards, etc. as ordered by the provider.ย 

  • Correct irregularities, when possible, to achieve the proper outcome.ย 

  • Participates in try in and shade match with provider and patient as needed.ย 

  • Complete assigned tasks by the due date ordered by the provider.ย 

  • Keep the lab stocked with necessary supplies.ย 

  • Clean and disinfect all dental impressions, equipment, and working surfaces to the required standards.ย 

  • Keep the lab areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy, and sterile as appropriate according to health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturersโ€™ instructionsย 

  • Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturersโ€™ recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order.ย 

  • Be familiar and comply with all OSHA Health and Safety rules and guidance infection control and ensure safe disposal of sharps and clinical waste.ย 

  • Complete laboratory forms and/or perform other applicable lab duties as assigned.ย 

  • Deliver or ship cases as needed.ย 

  • Assist other members of the team as needed.ย 

  • Other tasks as assigned during production downtime.ย 

Required Skills and Abilitiesย 

  • A good understanding of digital lab techniques, dental materials, and equipment requiredย 

  • Excellent manual dexterityย 

  • Strong attention to detailย 

  • Professional and punctualย 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsย ย 

  • Basic computer skills required and proficiency in MS products a plusย ย 

Education and Experienceย 

  • Highschool diploma required.ย 

  • Dental Lab Tech Certification orย prior equivalent experienceย 

  • Additional clinical certifications and/or expanded functions preferredย 

Physical Requirementsย 

  • Ability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer or other desktop equipment.ย ย 

  • Ability to move within the lab as needed for fabrication, cleaning, and meetings.ย 

  • Ability to lift to 0-25 pounds if necessary.ย ย
