The Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist plays a key role in shaping Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Company's (PLM) digital presence, with a primary focus on social media strategy, content creation, and audience engagement. Responsibilities ย ย 

Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with PLM's business and marketing objectives

  • Create and publish high-quality written, visual, and video content that educates audiences on industry topics, coverages, and risk management insights
  • Design and develop digital assets (graphics, templates, social visuals, and marketing collateral) to support marketing, sales, and internal department initiatives

Monitor and engage with audiences, fostering meaningful interactions with policyholders, prospects, and industry partners

Manage and optimize PLM's social media platforms to increase engagement, promote educational content, and support lead generation efforts

Analyze performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions) and provide actionable recommendations to enhance campaign effectiveness

Support company branding initiatives by highlighting company culture, employees, and community involvement

Ensure all content adheres to brand standards, regulatory requirements, and industry compliance guidelines

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of company products, coverages, and industry trends to create accurate and impactful marketing materials
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events as needed

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field

2-4 years of experience in social or digital marketing, preferably within B2B, insurance, or financial services

Proven experience managing corporate social media accounts with measurable results

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills

Experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social)

Proficiency in graphic design and/or video editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) preferred

Understanding of SEO and content optimization best practices is a plus

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Interest in or willingness to develop knowledge of commercial insurance and the industries PLM serves

Commitment to ongoing professional development and industry educationย 

Portfolio of social media campaigns, writing samples, and/or design work required


Work Conditions

Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods

Hybrid work schedule (3 in-office, 2 remote)
