Description
AVER is a fast-growing SDVOSB that has achieved significant revenue growth over the past 5 plus years with much of our work focused on Data Analytics, Mission Support, IT Modernization and Biometrics. AVER is seeking a Biometric Examiner to support the Department of Homeland Security through advanced multi-modal biometric analysis. Must have a minimum of 3 months hands-on analysis and comparison through advance forensic coursework, internships and/or professional work experience in facial, iris -OR- latent print examination. This role requires strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-impact environment supporting national security missions. Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform 1:1 and multi-modal biometric comparisons, including facial and iris image analysis
  • Analyze biometric data and resolve cases where automated systems cannot determine definitive matches
  • Search facial images against large-scale biometric databases (hundreds of millions of records), analyze candidate results, and document findings
  • Receive, process, and pre-process biometric files/images (e.g., image enhancement, quality analysis) prior to system submission
  • Provide, record, and maintain comparison results and associated case data in case management systems
  • Conduct identity resolution and deconfliction, including review and reconciliation of conflicting biometric records
  • Perform routine identity maintenance and biometric record updates as required
  • Support help desk and technical troubleshooting for examiner tools and systems
  • Participate in and present on topics such as emerging technologies, SOPs, and biometric trends
  • Support stakeholder engagements, including conferences, demonstrations, and training sessions

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science with advance coursework in Facial, Iris, or multi-modal biometric analysis, comparison and identification, highly preferred

Experience Requirements:
  • 3-8 years of hands-on experience as a Biometric Examiner with expertise in Facial, Iris or Latent Fingerprint analysis and comparison
  • Experience with facial and iris analysis, identification, and comparison to pass proficiency assessment
  • Working experience with case management systems
  • Experience with a biometric system such as IDENT, ABIS, etc
  • Ability to work autonomously and maintain high degree of accuracy to meet QA case work requirements

Desired Requirements:
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar tools for digital image enhancement
  • Training in comparative analysis methodologies
  • Prior experience supporting government or national security missions

Location:
  • Springfield, VA- HYBRID

Security Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government clearance (Public Trust)
