Location expectations:
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

US Bank is seeking a Digital Forensic Examiner to join the E-Discovery & Forensic Investigations team. This role supports sensitive legal, HR, fraud, corporate security, and information security investigations through the collection, preservation, analysis, and documentation of digital evidence.

This person will work closely with Legal, HR, Corporate Security, Fraud, and Information Security partners to conduct forensic collections, support e-discovery matters, maintain evidence integrity, and help deliver defensible investigative results. The ideal candidate has hands‑on digital forensics experience, understands evidence handling and chain of custody, and is capable of progressing into independent case ownership following onboarding and mentorship.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct forensic collections and examinations involving laptops, desktops, email systems, messaging platforms, mobile devices, and other digital sources.
  • Support e‑discovery matters by collecting, preserving, and delivering digital evidence for legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform digital forensic investigations in support of Legal, HR, Fraud, Corporate Security, and Information Security teams.
  • Maintain evidence integrity and chain‑of‑custody documentation throughout the investigative lifecycle.
  • Utilize forensic tools and methodologies to identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence.
  • Document investigative activities, findings, and procedures in accordance with team standards and laboratory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand investigative objectives and support evidence collection efforts.
Must Have Skills:
  • 2+ years of hands‑on digital forensics, forensic investigations, or closely related incident response experience.
  • Experience collecting, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence.
  • Strong understanding of forensic methodologies, evidence handling, data preservation, and chain of custody.
  • Hands‑on experience with digital forensic tools and technologies.
  • Experience working with endpoint, email, messaging, or other enterprise data sources during investigations.
  • Ability to document investigative procedures and findings with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work within established procedures and standards in a regulated environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with EnCase, Magnet AXIOM, Cellebrite, FTK, X-Ways, or similar forensic platforms.
  • Enterprise digital forensics experience within a large organization.
  • Experience supporting e‑discovery, litigation, or regulatory investigations.
  • Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) experience.
  • Experience conducting insider threat, employee, corporate security, or fraud investigations.
  • Experience working directly with Legal, HR, Corporate Security, Fraud, or Information Security partners.
  • Mobile device forensic experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory‑accredited, highly regulated, or controlled investigative environment.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
