What is a digital equity?

A Digital Equity job focuses on ensuring that all individuals and communities have access to the technology, internet, and digital skills needed to participate fully in society. Professionals in this field work on policies, programs, and initiatives that address barriers such as affordability, digital literacy, and infrastructure gaps. They may collaborate with governments, nonprofits, and private sector partners to promote inclusive access to digital resources. These roles can include positions in advocacy, program management, research, and community engagement. The goal is to bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for underserved populations.

What are the most common challenges faced in a digital equity position?

One of the biggest challenges in a Digital Equity role is identifying and addressing the diverse barriers that prevent various communities from accessing digital resources, such as reliable internet, devices, or digital literacy training. Professionals often need to coordinate with local government, service providers, nonprofits, and community members to design effective programs and advocate for funding. Balancing the immediate needs of underserved groups with long-term strategic planning is another key aspect of the job. Success in this role comes from creativity, perseverance, and the ability to build strong cross-sector partnerships that make a measurable impact.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a digital equity position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Digital Equity role, you need a solid understanding of digital access issues, community engagement, program development, and public policy, typically supported by experience in technology access initiatives or related fields. Familiarity with digital inclusion tools, data analysis software, and knowledge of broadband infrastructure programs, as well as certifications like Digital Equity Professional, are often valuable. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competency, and advocacy abilities help professionals collaborate with diverse communities and stakeholders. These qualifications ensure the ability to promote fair access to technology, reduce digital divides, and support underserved populations effectively.

Job description

Periodontist - Associate-to-Partner OpportunityTucson, Arizona | 100% Fee-for-Service | 4-Day Clinical Week | Established Referral Base | Future OwnershipLeave the Competition Behind.

If you're an experienced Periodontist-or a newly trained specialist looking for the right place to build your career-you don't necessarily need another associate position.

You need the right practice, the right market, and the right long-term opportunity.

A highly respected, established periodontal practice in Tucson, Arizona is seeking a full-time Periodontist to join the practice with a defined associate-to-partner opportunity.

The founder has spent more than two decades building an exceptional reputation and referral network and is now beginning to plan for retirement.

This isn't simply an opening created by growth.

It's a succession opportunity.

For the right Periodontist, that means the opportunity to step into an established specialty practice with immediate patient demand, strong surgical volume, a loyal referral base, and a meaningful pathway toward ownership.

The Opportunity at a Glance

This is not a start-from-scratch associate position.

You'll be joining an established specialty practice reporting:

  • Approximately $2 million in annual practice production
  • Approximately $15,000 in current doctor production per clinical day
  • 100% fee-for-service patient base
  • Approximately 80% case acceptance
  • Approximately 3-week wait for new patients
  • Established, high-level GP referral network
  • 4.9-star Google reputation
  • 5 fully equipped operatories
  • Planmeca CBCT
  • Dexis digital radiography
  • Dentrix practice management software
  • IV sedation capabilities
  • Experienced clinical support team
  • Low staff turnover
  • Approximately 5-year average employee tenure
  • Dedicated assistant support
  • Monday-Thursday clinical schedule
  • Associate-to-partner opportunity

You can spend your time practicing periodontics-not trying to manufacture patient flow or build a referral network from zero.

A Referral Base Built Over Decades

One of the most difficult parts of building a successful periodontal practice is earning the trust of referring dentists.

That work has already been done here.

The practice has developed a high-level referral base of general dentists throughout the Tucson market, creating consistent specialty demand and a new-patient wait that currently extends approximately three weeks.

The practice's reputation has been built around two simple principles:

Quality and trust.

The team takes pride in standing behind the quality of its work while treating patients like family.

For an incoming Periodontist, that creates an uncommon opportunity to inherit relationships that normally take years-or decades-to develop.

Practice Comprehensive Surgical Periodontics

This is an opportunity for a clinician who wants to practice meaningful, comprehensive specialty dentistry.

Current capabilities include:

  • Periodontal surgery
  • Dental implant placement
  • Surgical extractions
  • Bone grafting
  • Sinus lifts
  • Implant-related procedures
  • Full-mouth rehabilitation
  • IV sedation
  • Complex interdisciplinary treatment planning

The incoming Periodontist will have the opportunity to perform periodontal surgery, oral surgery, and implant dentistry within an established specialty environment.

The practice is equipped with a Planmeca CBCT, digital radiography, surgical monitoring equipment, BioHorizons implant systems, and instrumentation and prosthetic kits supporting several additional implant systems.

A third-party anesthesia provider is also available when appropriate.

A Four-Day Clinical Week

Build an exceptional specialty career without giving up your life outside the practice.

The anticipated schedule is:

Monday-Thursday

Approximately 7:30 AM-5:00 PM

Routine Friday clinical hours are not currently part of the schedule.

Evening and weekend coverage is generally limited to emergencies.

For the right clinician, this provides the ability to build substantial production while maintaining a highly attractive four-day workweek.

Experienced Team. Professional Culture.

A great specialty practice is about more than the doctor.

You'll be supported by an experienced team that currently includes:

  • 4 Dental Assistants
  • 1 Hygienist
  • Dedicated assistant support
  • Office Manager
  • Front office support
  • Regional operational support

Staff turnover is described as low, with average employee tenure of approximately five years.

The culture is professional, patient-focused, and built around delivering high-quality care.

Build Toward Ownership

Most dental job advertisements mention "partnership potential."

Far fewer opportunities are actually being built around succession.

This one is.

The current owner is actively planning for the long-term future of the practice and is seeking a Periodontist who may ultimately become an equity partner.

The practice has identified a meaningful ownership pathway, with potential equity opportunities generally ranging from approximately 20%-40% depending on structure and circumstances.

Ownership valuation is based on an EBITDA multiple, providing a defined financial framework rather than an ambiguous future promise.

The exact timing, ownership percentage, investment structure, and partnership terms will depend on mutual fit and the structure ultimately agreed upon.

The goal is straightforward:

Find the right Periodontist who can help carry the practice forward for the next generation.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be structured on a production-based model, with the complete compensation package discussed during the interview process.

Available benefits include access to:

  • Medical insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Malpractice coverage
  • Established organizational support and infrastructure

Additional compensation and benefit details will be reviewed confidentially with qualified candidates.

Why Tucson?

If you're currently practicing in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Southern California, Albuquerque, El Paso, or another highly competitive specialty market, Tucson deserves serious consideration.

Tucson provides the amenities of a major metropolitan area without many of the frustrations associated with larger Western cities.

You'll find beautiful residential communities, outstanding outdoor recreation, a respected university, exceptional food and culture, and dramatically different lifestyle options within minutes of the city.

Catalina Foothills

Mountain views, beautiful homes, excellent schools, established neighborhoods, golf, dining, and immediate access to the Santa Catalina Mountains.

Oro Valley

Master-planned communities, golf, highly regarded schools, family-friendly neighborhoods, and easy access to hiking and cycling.

Marana

A rapidly growing area offering newer construction, larger homes, expanding amenities, and convenient access throughout Southern Arizona.

Whether you're raising a family, looking for more space, or simply ready for a different pace of life, Tucson offers an appealing alternative to many larger Western markets.

An Outdoor Lifestyle That's Difficult to Replicate

Southern Arizona is built for people who want to get outside.

Within the Tucson region you'll find:

  • Saguaro National Park
  • Sabino Canyon
  • Catalina State Park
  • Mount Lemmon
  • The Arizona Trail
  • World-class road cycling
  • Mountain biking
  • Hiking and trail running
  • Championship golf
  • Year-round outdoor recreation

You can spend the morning performing implant surgery and the afternoon hiking in the Catalina Mountains.

That's a difficult lifestyle to reproduce in many major metropolitan areas.

More Than Another Desert City

Tucson was the first U.S. city designated a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, reflecting the region's unique culinary history and culture.

You'll also find:

  • Exceptional Sonoran and Mexican cuisine
  • University of Arizona athletics
  • Arts and performing arts
  • Local breweries and coffee shops
  • Farmers markets
  • Festivals and community events
  • Easy access to destinations throughout Arizona and the Southwest

Tucson offers enough culture and activity to feel metropolitan while still maintaining a pace of life that feels manageable.

Experienced Periodontists & New Graduates Welcome

We're interested in speaking with both:

Experienced Periodontists who want to step into an established referral network and pursue long-term ownership.

Newly trained Periodontists who have completed specialty training and want to begin their careers in a high-quality practice with significant clinical opportunity and an experienced team around them.

What matters most is finding a doctor who values:

  • Clinical excellence
  • Patient relationships
  • Quality over volume
  • Strong referral relationships
  • Team culture
  • Long-term professional growth
  • Partnership and ownership
Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
  • Completed specialty training in Periodontics
  • Arizona dental license or ability to obtain Arizona licensure
  • Strong periodontal surgical skills
  • Interest in implant dentistry and comprehensive surgical care
  • Commitment to exceptional patient communication and outcomes
  • Ability to build and maintain strong referring-doctor relationships
  • Interest in becoming part of the long-term future of the practice

Experience is welcomed, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Build More Than a Career.Build a Legacy.

There are plenty of associate jobs available.

There are far fewer opportunities to step into a 100% fee-for-service specialty practice producing approximately $2 million annually, with an established referral network, four-day clinical schedule, immediate demand, and a genuine pathway toward ownership.

The founder has spent more than 20 years building the practice.

Now, the goal is to find the right Periodontist to help lead its next chapter.

If you're looking for a long-term opportunity where your surgical skills, relationships, and leadership can translate into both professional success and future ownership, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
