We are seeking a Systems Engineer to serve as a key technical leader in architecting a modern, integrated, and on-premises Digital Engineering (DE) environment critical to enabling engineering for our national defense. In this role, you will support our customer by designing an ecosystem that promotes efficiency, enables data sharing, and demonstrates the power of scalable DE tools across a diverse engineering center. You will be instrumental in transforming compartmentalized, project-based silos into a cohesive enterprise landscape. To succeed, you will need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, possessing a proactive approach to engaging, collaborating with, and securing buy-in across a diverse engineering center.

Responsibilities

  • Define the necessary data repositories, supported tool sets, and integration adapters required to connect disparate systems.
  • Actively reach out to and engage with existing project teams currently performing digital engineering work to survey their current tools, data management practices, and licensing structures.
  • Develop and present a comprehensive vision and roadmap for the modern DE environment.
  • Establish governing policies, standardized procedures, and strategic paths for enterprise licensing, data storage, and cross-functional data sharing.
  • Proactively identify existing projects across the engineering center that can serve as candidate pilot programs to test, validate, and demonstrate the capabilities of the newly integrated DE environment.
  • Direct and collaborate with digital engineering teams to execute, integrate, and conduct Verification and Validation (V&V) on projects driven by core digital engineering principles.

Required

  • BS or BA degree
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Strong background in Systems Engineering or Project Engineering.
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital engineering methodologies and the strategic application of the digital thread across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Desired

  • Experience actively designing, defining, or assembling the digital thread across a project lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering and modeling tools (e.g., Dassault Systemes, MBSE frameworks, and Finite Element Analysis software) with experience managing projects that integrate these environments
