Position Summary
The fellow will be a reporter in the KUNM newsroom and an occasional host for the news magazines, Morning Edition, and All Things Considered, as well as Let's Talk New Mexico.
As a reporter, they will be mentored by the news director and other members of the KUNM team to produce broadcast and digital stories weekly. This will be a mix of assigned stories and enterprise work. The fellow will also focus on building KUNM's presence and engagement on social media and help other newsroom staff create more social media content. They would eventually serve as a digital editor working with the news director to build out engaging digital content and tracking analytics to help inform editorial decisions.
Additionally, the fellow will join other KUNM staff for community engagement events and will work with the news director to plan some of the these events and other community engagement opportunities.

  • Must present transcripts prior to a formal offer being extended.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • This is a fixed-term position, typically up to 24 months.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have obtained a Bachelor's or higher level degree no more than 24 months prior to the date of hire OR if the Bachelor's (or higher level) degree was obtained more than 24 months prior to the date of hire, the individual must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher level) degree program; no previous work experience required.
