Job description

Position Summary:
The MYP Design Teacher is responsible for delivering an inquiry-based, concept-driven design curriculum aligned to the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. This role challenges students to apply creative and critical thinking skills through the design cycle to solve authentic problems, develop innovative solutions, and evaluate their impact within local and global contexts.ย 

Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum:
  • Plan and deliver engaging MYP Design units that emphasize inquiry, problem-solving, and the design cycle (inquiring and analyzing, developing ideas, creating solutions, evaluating).ย 
  • Teach design through conceptual understanding, integrating key concepts, related concepts, and global contexts as required by the MYP framework.ย 
  • Facilitate student learning in product design, digital design, or a combination of both, depending on program needs.ย 
  • Ensure instruction supports the development of creative, critical, and practical thinking skills, as well as responsible and ethical design practices.ย 

Assessment & Feedback:
  • Assess student learning using MYP Design Criteria Aโ€“D and provide clear, criterion-referenced feedback.
  • Maintain accurate assessment records and contribute to moderation and standardization processes.
