Digital Delivery Office Lead – Architecture Practice (Charlotte, NC)

HDR’s Architecture practice is seeking a Digital Delivery Office Lead to manage and drive the digital model environment, deliverables, and coordination for multi‑discipline projects in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direction for Digital Delivery Coordinators and Specialists, and manage the digital model environment and deliverables at the project level.
  • Work directly with the Project Manager to develop and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP), project initiation procedures, server infrastructure, and discipline models.
  • Execute and support digital deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate the deliverable schedule and monitor model health and coordination processes from planning through issuance of construction documents.
  • Mentor and guide team members; provide technical support and training.
  • Oversee document management system establishment and maintain server infrastructure for multi‑discipline projects.
  • Ensure appropriate software, versions, access, and training for the team.
  • Generate and maintain model setup, including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match‑lines, views, sheets, and general models.
  • Host Digital Delivery coordination meetings with Digital Design teams to ensure quality control via Design Reviews and 3D Coordination processes.
  • Coordinate and compile all project digital deliverables and exchange processes at predetermined milestones.
  • Handle project archiving at submittals and closeout.
  • Engage in effective communication and presentations with HDR management, production staff, and clients.
  • Provide guidance to Project Managers and engage with other Digital Delivery Leads.
Required Qualifications
  • Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in digital design (BIM element authoring) and 5 years in digital delivery (model management).
  • Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and building system operations.
  • Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset in 3D coordination tools.
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices, discipline codes, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies.
  • Familiarity with 3D design software add‑ins and supporting applications.
  • Familiarity with content creation and management concepts.
  • Superior client service, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to serve as a first line of technical support.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and leadership traits.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize technical support requests and project work.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Healthcare, Science, Technology, and/or Civic facilities.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.
  • Preference for local candidates.
  • Commitment to active participation in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
