The Department of Visual Arts is seeking individuals to be included in a pool of adjunct (part-time) faculty for our NASAD accredited program. A significant portion of our courses are at the Foundations and General Education level, but there are some opportunities for upper level classes.
The department chair or area coordinator will review applicants for these positions when a need arises. The pool will be cleared annually in January, so please reapply if interested.
Essential Role Responsibilities
Faculty are expected to prepare course materials, maintain an up-to-date Canvas (Learning Management System) site for their course(s) following the department's template, provide timely feedback and grading of student work, attend the required Division and Departmental kick-off meetings, and complete mandatory trainings. Most importantly, faculty will deliver high quality demonstrations and lectures and be actively engaged with students during the creative process.

Minimum Education Required Experience Required
  • Masters Degree or higher OR Bachelors Degree and significant industry experience
  • Discipline/Medium specific knowledge including
    • Foundational elements and principles of composition and form
    • Studio Faculty should be well versed in the tools, techniques, and concepts associates with their medium
    • Digital / Digital Photography faculty should be proficient in the Adobe Suite
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
