POSITION TITLE: Digital Strategy Manager

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

Reports To: Marketing Director


POSITION OVERVIEW

JewishColumbus is seeking a Digital Strategy Manager to strengthen the organization’s digital presence and engagement across key channels. This is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for developing and executing integrated digital strategies that leverage social media, email, web, and analytics to move audiences from awareness to engagement and action.


The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities, bringing a proactive, datainformed, and collaborative approach to the work. This individual will identify opportunities, ask thoughtful questions, build scalable systems and processes, and use data and experience to inform recommendations and decision-making. The role requires the ability to help teams maximize the effectiveness of digital tools and platforms in support of organizational priorities.


The Digital Strategy Manager understands that effective digital engagement is not simply about visibility—it is about reaching the right audiences, inspiring action, strengthening relationships, and advancing the organization’s mission. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, energized by growth and continuous improvement, and capable of bringing clarity, structure, and focus to complex and evolving initiatives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Digital Strategy

  • Develop and execute digital strategies that support JewishColumbus’ organizational goals, brand rollout, fundraising, events, programs, and community engagement.
  • Translate audience needs and organizational priorities into clear digital plans.
  • Help determine which channels, messages, and tactics are best suited to different goals.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen digital engagement and conversion.


Social Media Strategy

  • Guide JewishColumbus’ social media strategy across platforms.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform changes, audience behavior, and best practices.
  • Recommend platform-specific approaches for content, engagement, and measurement
  • Partner with team members who support content creation, posting, and activation.
  • Help the team move toward meaningful measures of success.


Email, Web, and User Experience

  • Drive email strategy, audience segmentation, campaign planning, and performance improvement.
  • Guide website strategy and ongoing optimization for jewishcolumbus.org, partnering with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to strengthen the site as a hub for community engagement and information.
  • Serve as a strategic partner on future website redesign work.
  • Recommend ways to improve digital pathways for donors, event participants, community members, and other audiences.


Analytics and Reporting

  • Define meaningful digital KPIs across social, email, web, and campaigns.
  • Build or improve reporting systems and dashboards.
  • Analyze performance data and translate it into clear, useful recommendations.
  • Help the team understand what is working, what is not, and where to focus next.


Digital Systems and Processes

  • Create and document digital workflows, best practices, and platform protocols.
  • Help clarify roles, responsibilities, and approval processes across digital work.
  • Support stronger platform access, governance, and continuity.
  • Bring structure to digital planning while remaining flexible in a fast-moving environment.


Collaboration and Brand Rollout

  • Work closely with the JewishColumbus Marketing staff, internal departments, and partners.
  • Help bring JewishColumbus’ refreshed brand to life across digital channels.
  • Serve as a digital thought partner across campaigns, events, fundraising, and community communications.
  • Support urgent and or rapid-response communications when needed.


COMPETENCIES + SKILLS + EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, digital strategy, communications, or a related field. Experience developing digital strategy across social media, email, web, and/or campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and engagement strategy.
  • Ability to interpret digital analytics and turn data into recommendations.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar tools. Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create systems, processes, documentation, and workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, mission-driven environment characterized by growth, change, and evolving priorities.


PREFERRED

  • Alignment with JewishColumbus' mission, values, and commitment to strengthening community.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems, ideally WordPress.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, community-based, membership, or mission-driven organization.
  • Experience supporting a brand rollout, website redesign, or digital transformation project.
  • Experience with Asana or similar project management tools.
  • Experience working with vendors, agencies, designers, and developers.
  • Familiarity with paid digital advertising or campaign amplification.


WORK ENVIRONMENT + SCHEDULE

  • Hybrid work environment, with on-site presence required Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support organizational events and address time-sensitive priorities or issues requiring team involvement and responsiveness.
  • Some travel may be necessary for venue site visits, partner meetings, or special programs, and professional development
