Digital Analytics Developer information

What is a digital analytics developer?

A Digital Analytics Developer is a professional who implements, manages, and optimizes analytics solutions on digital platforms, such as websites and mobile apps. They work with tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and tag management systems to collect and analyze user data. Their role involves creating and maintaining tracking codes, ensuring accurate data capture, and providing insights that support business decisions. Digital Analytics Developers often collaborate with marketing, design, and engineering teams to improve digital performance and user experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital analytics developer?

To thrive as a Digital Analytics Developer, you need a strong background in web development, JavaScript, data analysis, and a relevant degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Tag Management Systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager), and data visualization platforms is crucial. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication set high performers apart in this role. These skills and qualities are essential for ensuring accurate data collection, insightful analysis, and clear reporting that drive data-driven decision-making for organizations.

What is the difference between Digital Analytics Developer vs Data Analyst?

AspectDigital Analytics DeveloperData Analyst
Required CredentialsBachelor's in Computer Science, Analytics, or related field; knowledge of analytics tools and programmingBachelor's in Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; proficiency in data analysis tools
Work EnvironmentDevelops and implements analytics solutions, often within marketing or IT teamsAnalyzes data sets to generate insights, typically across various departments
Employer & Industry UsageUsed in digital marketing, e-commerce, and tech companies for tracking user behaviorCommon across finance, healthcare, and business sectors for decision support

While both roles involve working with data, a Digital Analytics Developer primarily focuses on creating and maintaining analytics tools and tracking systems, whereas a Data Analyst interprets data to provide actionable insights. The roles often overlap but serve different functions within data-driven organizations.

How does a digital analytics developer typically collaborate with marketing and IT teams?

Digital Analytics Developers often act as a bridge between marketing and IT teams, ensuring that web analytics tools are properly implemented and data is accurately captured across digital platforms. They work closely with marketers to understand campaign goals and reporting needs, translating those requirements into technical specifications. At the same time, they coordinate with IT or web development teams to integrate tracking codes, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and maintain data integrity. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential, as this role frequently involves explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Job description

Description:

GXM is seeking a Digital Engineer to join our team to support advanced defense and space-related mission programs focused on Command and Control (C2), mission systems integration, cloud modernization, and enterprise capability delivery.

The selected candidate will support development and maintenance of digital engineering artifacts that enable system visualization, architecture analysis, requirements management, and technical baseline governance across complex mission environments. The Digital Engineer will leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies to develop digital representations of mission systems, interfaces, data flows, and operational architectures.

This role requires close collaboration with architects, systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity personnel, and mission stakeholders to ensure technical decisions, system dependencies, and requirements are accurately represented and traceable throughout the system lifecycle.

This role is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Hybrid flexibility may be available over time based on mission requirements, program execution needs, and achievement of objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models supporting mission systems, enterprise capabilities, and operational architectures.
  • Create and manage digital architecture models representing system relationships, interfaces, data flows, and operational dependencies.
  • Develop system dependency visualizations to support architecture analysis, integration planning, and technical decision-making.
  • Support requirements engineering activities, including requirements decomposition, allocation, validation, and management.
  • Establish and maintain traceability between requirements, architecture products, system components, interfaces, and mission capabilities.
  • Support development and management of technical baselines across hardware, software, data, infrastructure, and operational environments.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, architects, and technical teams to ensure digital engineering artifacts accurately reflect system implementations and architectural decisions.
  • Support architecture reviews, technical assessments, model governance activities, and engineering working groups.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, model repositories, and digital artifacts supporting program execution and modernization efforts.
Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting systems engineering, digital engineering, MBSE, or architecture development activities.
  • Experience utilizing MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or similar modeling platforms.
  • Experience developing architecture models, engineering artifacts, requirements relationships, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles, architecture frameworks, and digital engineering methodologies.
  • Experience supporting requirements management, traceability, and technical baseline development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working within Agile, DevSecOps, or modern engineering environments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting defense, space, intelligence, or multi-domain operational environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD Digital Engineering Strategy, MBSE methodologies, or SysML-based modeling approaches.
  • Experience supporting Command and Control (C2) systems, mission systems, or enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • OCSMP, INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, Cameo certification, or equivalent digital engineering certification preferred.
