Job description

Franklin Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment & Diesel Mechanic to join our team and help maintain our growing fleet of equipment used in utility vegetation management and powerline right-of-way work.


We operate a diverse fleet including skid steers, excavators, dozers, rollers, trucks, trailers, and other specialized equipment. We are looking for someone who is comfortable diagnosing problems, making repairs, and keeping equipment dependable and ready for the field.


The ideal candidate will have strong experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems and must be able to weld and perform basic fabrication work. Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, repairing trucks and trailers, and working on forestry equipment is also highly valued.


This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in figuring out problems and making quality repairs. Most work will be performed at our shop, with occasional travel to active jobsites to diagnose or repair equipment when breakdowns occur in the field.


$35-$45/hr starting pay based of off qualifications and skill level


Key qualifications include:


- Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines

- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and components

- Welding and fabrication ability

- Heavy equipment repair and preventative maintenance experience

- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues

- Ability to work independently and determine the best repair solution

- Experience with skid steers, excavators, dozers, trucks, and trailers is preferred

- Valid driver's license and dependable work history (CDL is preferred)
