The Rental Prep Technician position is responsible for check in/out and minor repair and service of rental and sold equipment and attachments at the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
Job Description
  • Check in/out rental equipment and Take detailed pictures.
  • Perform receiving and delivery reports with detailed notes of existing or new damage.
  • Perform paint touchup and bodywork on equipment.
  • Power wash, clean, and detail equipment and attachments for rentals & sales.
  • Install attachments (coupler, thumb, shears, processors, etc.) for rentals & sales.
  • Install Auxiliary hydraulic kits and cab guards on equipment.
  • Service and minor repair of equipment, components, systems, and attachments.
  • PDI New Equipment.
  • Think ahead and plan methods and sequence of performing assigned duties.
  • Research and order all parts and materials required to perform assigned tasks.
  • Perform all duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all unused parts and materials are returned per established methods.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
  • Operate forklift and heavy equipment.
  • Take Inventory equipment and attachments.
  • Record Keeping & Compliance
  • Maintain legible records of notes, time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases as needed.
  • All record-keeping methods are followed per established methods. The 3 C's (complaint, cause, and correction) are always used and documented with all repairs.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and methods established by the company.
  • Maintain and care for all shop tools, equipment, and vehicles in your possession.

  • Ability to start work early and stay late to finish work on a rental item
  • Working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
  • Candidates with a two-year diesel engine, heavy truck repair, or heavy equipment technical school certificate OR a minimum of two years of heavy equipment or heavy truck repair experience preferred.
  • Good attitude, desire to learn, and mechanical mindset is required.
  • Training is to be completed as assigned.
  • Training will be conducted virtually and in-person. Overnight travel may be required. A minimum of two weeks of in-person manufacturer training will be held annually.
  • Company Wrench has a goal of four weeks of training per technician per year.
  • Minimal travel is expected.
