Job description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Mobile Diesel Service Technician, Journeymanto join our dynamic team. The Mobile Diesel Service Technician performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision. This position is specifically responsible for assisting customers with repairs and diagnosis over the road within the assigned region.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Travels to customer locations to perform repairs. Provides over-the-road assistance and diagnosis.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies always.
  • Communicate with Service Manager regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
  • Download and save Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
  • Maintain repair order closure rate of under 10 days and 3-day lag.
  • Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
  • Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box, and turn into correct location. Labels the box with repair oder number, S/N, customer name and date.
  • Maintain a 85% efficiency and a 90% on productivity.
  • Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
  • Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
  • Responsible for maintaining company vehicle. Ensures vehicle is stocked with required tools and parts for off-site repairs.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a certified Diesel Service Technician
  • Certified:
    • MX Engines
    • Cummins Engines
    • Eaton Transmissions
    • Peterbilt electrical systems training
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Motor Vehicle Record must adhere to TLG MVR guidelines.
