About Impact Diesel

Impact Diesel is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician for its independent repair shop in Utah. This opportunity is geared toward an A-Level Technician, although a strong B-Level Technician with the required diesel experience will also be considered. The position offers a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM schedule, $25-$40 per hour as described by the employer, plus a production bonus based on billed hours.

The shop specializes in diesel pickup trucks, with work consisting primarily of domestic vehicles along with fleet vehicles, occasional Volkswagen TDI models, and some diesel-powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, maintain, inspect, repair, and replace components on diesel pickup trucks and other vehicles serviced by the shop.

  • Perform general diesel repair, drivability, electrical, and diagnostic work.

  • Diagnose and repair SCR system concerns.

  • Diagnose fuel injector concerns and perform injector replacement.

  • Perform turbocharger, engine, and transmission replacement work.

  • Complete approximately a 25% diagnostic and 75% maintenance/repair workload.

  • Work toward a minimum expectation of 25 billed hours per week while maintaining quality workmanship.

  • Coordinate with the Service Writer and General Manager, who support workflow, estimates, and parts ordering.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant technician experience.

  • A-Level Technician capability or strong B-Level Technician experience appropriate for the work described.

  • Intermediate-to-advanced diesel diagnostic skills.

  • Strong experience with domestic diesel vehicles.

  • Ability to perform diesel diagnostics, general repair, drivability, electrical, SCR, turbocharger, fuel injector, engine, and transmission work at the level required for assigned jobs.

  • Personal tools required for the position.

  • Digital vehicle inspection experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
