Job description

Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
LAUNCH TransTechs is searching for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to work in Meriden, CT running diagnostics on electrical systems and starting and charging systems.
Pay: $30 - $35 per hour, depending on experience
Shift: 1st. M - F, 7 am -3:30 pm
Position: Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic - Meriden, CT
Looking for someone with minimum of 5 years experience. Able to perform scheduled services on drive trains. Working knowledge of electricity principals.
Electronic diagnostic and scan tool/computer experience. Is a big part of the position
We have the latest state of the art computer diagnostic laptops and tablets.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Must be able to work with limited supervision, drawing on experience and years of troubleshooting experience
Proficient use of diagnostic tools (both manual and electronic) to troubleshoot, service and repair issues
Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical principals.
Able to perform scheduled services on a variety of equipment including drive trains.
Able to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic diesel systems,
Able to perform diagnostic on starting and charging systems
Prepare accurate and detailed records based on work performed
Knowledge of metal working (Torch Cutting and welding)
Develop and maintain analytical and technical skills to perform at a high level.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines
Good communication skills, excellent customer service skills
After training with a journeyman mobile tech, must be able after direct hire to provide mobile support
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum 5 years working on heavy equip, diesel trucks and tractor experience.
Example Komatsu, Caterpillar, Case New Holland, Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment
High School Diploma accepted. Mechanic Technical School - Preferred
Motivated to learn and pick up new skills
Valid Drivers License
Must be willing to obtain CDL within 6 months.
Expectations/Goals
Show up on time ready to work
Must have reliable transportation
Must have own set of basic tools and proficient in use of them.
Steel toe boots are required
Must keep work area clean and safe.
