What You'll Do

As a Generator Technician, you'll be responsible for keeping standby power systems operating safely and reliably while delivering exceptional customer service.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel and natural gas generator systems

  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system failures

  • Repair and replace components including:

  • Engines

  • Alternators

  • Voltage regulators

  • Control panels

  • Conduct load bank testing and performance evaluations

  • Install new generator systems and replacement units to code

  • Maintain detailed service and repair records

  • Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, managers, and installation teams

  • Maintain company vehicle and inventory

  • Participate in an on-call rotation

  • Follow all safety standards, regulations, and best practices

  • Attend training programs and pursue professional certifications

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Proven experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing generators

  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, generators, transfer switches, control panels, and PLCs

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Safety-focused mindset and professional appearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or certification in an electrical, mechanical, or related field

  • Experience with diesel and natural gas generators

  • Gas piping or fuel system experience a plus (not required)
