About the Role

The Apprentice Diesel Technician is an entry-level role focused on developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Diesel Technician.

You’ll gain hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks while learning directly from experienced technicians. This role is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician position within 1–2 years.

Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses).
  • Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs.
  • Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators).

Inspection & Support

  • Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians.
  • Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Shop Responsibilities

  • Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Accurately document work performed.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply).
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

This is a hands-on shop role that includes:
