Job Summary
Are you mechanically inclined and looking to kickstart a career as a diesel technician? We are seeking an Entry-Level Transport Truck Mechanic to join a busy shop in Baton Rouge!
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn the trade from the ground up. Working directly under the Shop Foreman, you will assist with general maintenance, tire service, brake jobs, basic engine repairs, and prepping heavy transportation trucks for the road.
Key Responsibilities
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform oil changes, fluid checks, and basic preventive maintenance on commercial transport trucks.
  • Tire & Brake Service: Assist with inspecting, repairing, and changing commercial tires, as well as routine brake maintenance.
  • Basic Repairs: Learn and assist with introductory engine and mechanical repairs under expert guidance.
  • Fleet Preparation: Inspect and prep trucks to ensure they are safe and ready for loading and transport.
  • Shop Upkeep: Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with shop safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Must be mechanically inclined with a strong interest in working on large commercial vehicles.
  • Tools: Must possess your own basic set of hand tools. (Specialized diesel equipment and heavy tools are provided by the shop!)
  • Transportation: Must have reliable personal transportation to get to and from the shop daily.
  • Background & Screening: Must be able to pass a background check and a 5-panel drug screen.
  • Work Ethic: Punctual, eager to learn hands-on, and capable of taking direction from the Shop Foreman.
