Position Overview
We are a recruiting firm working on behalf of a manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker Setup Technician. This role supports advanced warehouse and material handling systems that utilize high density, high precision racking and automated pallet shuttle technology. These systems significantly improve storage capacity, space utilization, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
The organization operates multiple manufacturing facilities and commercial offices globally and is expanding operations in the greater Atlanta area.

Job Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances
  • Design and build tools, dies, and jigs using lathes, grinders, milling machines, and related equipment
  • Inspect finished tools and dies to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
  • Repair and maintain existing tools and dies
  • Set up and install dies in press machines according to specifications
  • Load coils onto mandrels and feed material into dies
  • Adjust and align dies and roll forming cassettes to optimize operation and product quality
  • Perform trial runs after die setup to verify proper function and output
  • Inspect tooling and equipment before and after use to identify defects or wear
  • Recommend minor repairs and maintenance for dies and related machinery
  • Troubleshoot die, press, and roll forming issues to reduce downtime
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to support production goals
  • Operate overhead crane equipment
  • Run the production line as required
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Ensure all tooling meets safety standards
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a Die Setter or similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with stamping presses and die based production systems
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and setup sheets
  • Understanding of geometric tolerances and their relationship to finished parts
  • Ability to prepare and run complex bend setups and roll forming operations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Experience operating overhead crane equipment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials
