Vehicle Maintenance Technician Job ID: VEHIC013872 Job Title: Vehicle Maintenance Technician Location: 606 S MAUMEE STREET, TECUMSEH, MI 49286 Union: IBEW 1106 - CBA 032 Hiring Manager: Scott Dickson # of Openings: 1 Internal Posting Dates: 3/6/26-3/13/26 Wage Range: $20.57 - $36.12 per hour Summary Performs repair and preventative maintenance of diesel and gasoline engines, brake systems, fuel systems, ignition and electrical systems, exhaust systems, suspension systems, hydraulic systems and vehicle and body computers. Maintenance and repair is performed on all types of vehicles including cars, vans, trucks, trailers and a variety of mobile tools and construction equipment. The Vehicle Maintenance Technician will use standard automotive tools, electronic diagnostic equipment, cutting and welding equipment, specialized hydraulic test equipment and will utilize a shop computer to input work orders and time

General Duties Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Wears appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures. Performs maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines, and the following equipment and components: Derricks, Transmissions, Brake Systems, Electrical Systems, Ignition and fuel systems, Hydraulic systems, Steering and running gear, Tires , Batteries , Starters, generators, and alternators, Carburetors, Chassis- both lubrication and repair, Electronic engine emission controls, Repairs and maintains other related components as required. Performs preventive maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment.

Supervises work of, and trains as applicable, other garage personnel. Maintains reports and records as necessary. Work is performed in a garage under and around mechanical equipment as necessary.

Some work may be performed outside. Maintains neat and orderly work area. Assumes responsibility for proper use and care of garage tools.

May be required to work day, evening or night tours, overtime and weekends as required. Classroom training may be away from home location. Heavy lifting may be required in handling tools, materials and supplies.

May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. Basic Qualifications: Tests- Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy. Must be able to read, write and perform the following mathematical calculations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

**Must have ASE certification as required by management.** Must have five or more years experience as a mechanic or in another closely related field. Requires frequent lifting of 15 to 120 pounds. Requires frequent reaching/moving of heavy objects by shoving or pulling with arms and hands

Requires frequent stooping and crawling in confined areas. Requires prolonged standing. Works regularly with cleaning solvents, gasoline and other petroleum products.

Must possess valid state driver's license for state in which employed and for equipment maintained. May be required to work day, evening or night tours, overtime and weekends as required.
