GPD Group is looking for an experienced Civil / Transportation Engineer with a Roadway / Drainage background to add to our growing team in our Lexington, KY office. This position would serve as GPD’s roadway design lead for our Kentucky operation.
Role Qualifications:
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Possess a Kentucky professional engineering registration (PE)
  • Possess an Ohio (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway/transportation design.
  • Have strong KYTC and Local Relationships
  • Experience with AutoCAD- Civil 3D
  • Experience with Microstation – Open Roads / Geopak
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have experience in the preparation of KYTC Plan packages, particularly Roadway, Drainage and Maintenance of Traffic components.
  • Experience with Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) work a plus.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on a variety of project sizes and types.
  • Ability to regularly communicate with other Project Managers and staff in other offices for workload sharing and technical reviews and training.
  • Complete technical tasks including design and quality reviews.
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluation options for resolution including risks associated with each and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Assist with maintenance of proper quality assurance and quality control within the team and in accordance with GPD’s QA/QC Program, industry, and client standards and expectations.
  • Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communications while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Leading the roadway design team in project design, coordination and technical quality reviews.
  • Plan production.
  • Quantity calculations.
  • Mentoring and empowering engineers newer in their career.
  • Taking on a leadership role not only as a technical expert in our field but as a servant leader in the community and within the company.
