Job Type: Full-time, Contract/Interim
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift | Weekend rotation may be required
Location: Traveling role — communities throughout Iowa
Pay: $50–$55 per hour | Based on experience

Senior Care Solutions partners with skilled nursing and assisted living communities across Iowa during leadership transitions, staffing gaps, and organizational change. As our Interim DON, you'll step into a community, stabilize clinical operations, coach the team, and leave things stronger than you found them — then do it again somewhere new.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the Interim DON for skilled nursing and assisted living communities.
  • Lead day-to-day clinical operations while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Coach, mentor, and support nursing teams through leadership transitions.
  • Partner with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to maintain exceptional resident care.
  • Assess clinical operations and implement improvements quickly.
  • Complete required clinical documentation and state reporting.
  • Travel to assigned communities throughout Iowa for the duration of each interim assignment.

What You'll Need

Required Qualifications
  • Current Iowa RN license, including a Compact RN license, in good standing.
  • Working knowledge of Iowa long-term care regulations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Iowa.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a nursing leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minnesota RN license or willingness to obtain a Minnesota RN license is a plus.
  • Experience with Medicare/Medicaid survey readiness.
  • Experience as a DON, DHS, or in an equivalent nursing leadership role within skilled nursing or assisted living.

Compensation

  • $50–$55 per hour | Based on experience
