Job Requirements
  • At least 1 year of mammography technologist, radiology, or breast imaging experience preferred
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiography program
  • Current ARRT certification
  • Active Massachusetts license in Radiology and Mammography
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience performing 3D mammography required
  • Ability to become proficient in bone density exams and DEXA scans
  • Knowledge of MQSA, ACR standards, radiation protection, and quality control procedures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Preferred: Advanced level ARRT Bone Density Operator certification
Responsibilities
  • Perform mammographic exams and procedures to assist in the detection of breast abnormalities and breast cancer
  • Operate digital mammography, stereotactic, and advanced breast imaging equipment safely and accurately
  • Complete quality assurance checks and maintain MQSA compliance documentation
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper supplies and equipment are ready for patient care
  • Review requisitions, prior reports, and patient history to confirm the correct exam
  • Educate patients on exam expectations, screening versus diagnostic processes, and result procedures
  • Provide compassionate support to patients throughout imaging procedures
  • Perform DEXA scans, including spine, hip, and forearm imaging as needed
  • Maintain QC records, data management, PACS workflow, and accurate patient documentation
  • Support equipment upkeep, report malfunctions, and follow infection control and safety policies
  • Deliver excellent service to patients, families, visitors, and team members
