Job description

Juneau Construction Company and Concrete Construction Solutions are seeking Concrete Laborers to support complex commercial construction projects across our Southeast footprint.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum one year of construction experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written
  • Team attitude
  • Daily attendance and punctuality
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and measure distance using a tape measure.
  • Available to work 5/6 days a week, 8/10-hour days as jobsite requires

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must work in all types of weather conditions and in all types of environmental conditions, such as dirt, mud, concrete, etc.
  • Prepare the worksite area for concrete footings and foundations.
  • Assemble concrete forms on site.
  • Set up pumps and hoses for dewatering.
  • Bend, form, tie, and install rebar as directed by supervisor.
  • Remove obstructions in grooves with hammer and chisel. Patch holes in cracks and joints.
  • Fill forms with wet concrete, vibrating concrete screed, trowel as necessary to achieve a finished product.
  • Daily clean-up of the work area.
  • Ability to participate in all work required for foundation, wall, slab and hardscaping tasks.
  • Participate in and ensure safe working practices according to OSHA and company policies & procedures.
  • Participate in Tool Box Talks.
  • Communicate effectively and establish good working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, inspectors, etc.
  • Ability to report to a job with own transportation.
  • Responsible for assisting the Concrete Superintendent as needed.
  • Other Tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand, sit, feel, twist, walk, talk, hear, see, bend, drive, crouch, grasp, squeeze, crawl, kneel, squat, push, pull, apply pressure, reach overhead. Ability to focus for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. regularly if required, steady hands to obtain and meet required quality. Must be able to safely operate all required machinery. Ability to work outdoors subject to local weather conditions
