About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer\Developer to join our core engineering team responsible for enterprise security orchestration. You will be a key contributor to Run and Release, the centralized platform that serves as the organizational source of truth for application security posture.

Our team is currently in an exciting transitional phase. You will be joining as we actively modernize our architecture into a streamlined "Run and Release" framework. If you enjoy solving complex architectural challenges, reducing technical debt, and building high-performance CI/CD pipeline integrations, this is the role for you. The role is a full stack software developer role for Humana's software security platform Run and Release. Run and Release is used by the developer community for full application security posture including cloud platform, infrastructure and software. You will provide excellent developer experience partnering with developers.

What You Will Do

  • Microservices Development: Build, optimize, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET (C#) within an Azure 2.0 environment (Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Service Bus).
  • Pipeline Orchestration & Gating: Develop and maintain the orchestration logic that integrates with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines. You will ensure our APIs accurately calculate "Release Grades" based on Humana's strict risk and compliance rubrics to gate deployments via our GLAPI enforcer.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Deploy and manage scalable Azure cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform, and write custom automation scripts using Python to streamline operational tasks.
  • On call rotation.
  • Strategic Modernization & Tech Debt Reduction: Play a lead role in our roadmap by helping deprecate legacy SaaS worker functions, optimizing our grading engine, and reducing API bloat to improve pipeline performance.
  • Data Engineering & Analytics: Work alongside data engineers to support asynchronous "Run Grade" calculations. You will manage and query MongoDB (NoSQL) and PostgreSQL (Relational), ensuring clean data flows to our Databricks (Nabu) and ADLS Gen2 enterprise data lakes.
  • Security & Configuration Management: Enforce strict supply chain security using JFrog Artifactory for package/container management, HashiCorp Vault for dynamic secrets, and LaunchDarkly for feature toggling.
  • Health Monitoring: Lead the implementation of Splunk across our microservices cluster to consolidate logging, improve error handling, and build real-time health dashboards.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering, DevOps, or DevSecOps roles.
  • Backend Development: Strong proficiency in .NET framework and C# development.
  • Cloud Architecture & IaC: Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure (Azure Functions, App Services, Service Bus) and proven experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Database Experience: Hands-on working knowledge of both relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
  • CI/CD Expertise: Experience building and integrating security tasks into GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines.
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in writing automation scripts using Python.
  • Containerization & API Design: Experience using Docker Desktop for local development and proficiency in building and testing REST APIs using tools like Postman.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience dealing with Application Security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) such as Checkmarx, AppScan, or Cycode.
  • Familiarity with enterprise configuration and secrets management tools (HashiCorp Vault, LaunchDarkly).
  • Experience with enterprise data engineering workflows (Databricks, Azure Data Lake Gen2).

Remote/WAH requirements:

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
