As a Manufacturing Technician, you'll work hands-on in a cleanroom environment to build and test our multimillion-dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment that's behind the technology we use every day. You'll be responsible for building, repairing, and testing various types of equipment--including electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies, and components. You will perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting, and repairs-- and perform audits to ensure necessary parts are available and inspected for defects. Using test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps you'll test assemblies, complete documentation, perform repairs, or install software to continuously improve our processes.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Use work orders (including schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and instructions) to build, repair and/or test equipment of various kinds (electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies and components)
  • Perform a wide variety of electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs
  • Receive parts and perform audits to ensure all necessary parts are available and free of defects
  • Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and/or vacuum pumps to test assemblies, subassemblies and components
  • Complete required job documentation (data entry) about progress, work expense and labor details; perform computer programming, repair or software installs, as needed
  • Work closely with engineering on developing and proposing new processes and procedures, and provide input on new product design and integration
  • Provide training and support to lower-level technicians; assist supervisor in aligning resources for daily production needs
  • Serve as a Quality Lead for processes, as needed; assist with quality issues at customer sites and provide feedback to improve manufacturing processes

Minimum Qualifications:
  • An Associate's degree
  • 4-7 years of semiconductor or display experience, or comparable industry or military experience
  • Specialized expertise within an analytical/scientific area for performing complex work

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple semiconductor manufacturing concepts and processes
  • Ability to operate as a senior technical leader and present projects with minimal supervision
  • Proven and capable people leadership (of teams 5+)
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%) to support teams, as needed

Physical Requirements:
This is a physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, the use of hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts. Additionally, because this position may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Tool Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on CVD reactors and associated subsystems (e.g., vacuum pumps, gas panels, MFCs, RF generators, chillers, etc.).
  • Diagnose tool failures and carry out root cause analysis to resolve mechanical, electrical, or process issues.
  • Collaborate with equipment engineers on tool upgrades, retrofits, and modifications.

Process Support
  • Assist process engineers in monitoring process stability, performance, and wafer/product output quality.
  • Support process runs, recipe setups, and parameter adjustments based on engineering direction.
  • Perform chamber cleans, parts replacements, and verify coating uniformity or product quality as required.

Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, process deviation records, and ensure all procedures are followed per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow safety protocols, EHS standards, and cleanroom gowning requirements.

Continuous Improvement
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve tool uptime, cycle time, and yield.
  • Participate in 5S, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing initiatives related to CVD toolsets.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering; or equivalent experience in semiconductor or high-vacuum systems.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with CVD or vacuum-based deposition equipment (e.g., SiC, Si, PECVD, LPCVD, ALD tools).
  • Experience with machining and grinding of various ceramic materials, quartz and coated parts.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret P&IDs, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PLC controls, gas delivery systems, or hazardous materials handling preferred.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
