Principal Software Engineer

About the Team: This role is for the Cloud Engineering team within Cornerstone. The team is responsible for creating and managing Cornerstone’s cloud infrastructure and related DevOps tooling automation.

As a Principal Software Engineer you will design, develop, implement and maintain Cloud Infrastructure DevOps automation solutions to manage, monitor, and deploy Cornerstone products. You will support existing automation tools, introduce next‑generation automation software, debug day‑to‑day issues during deployments, design and develop enhancements, and manage the lifecycle of specific automation tooling. Collaboration with Engineering, QA, Operations, and DB stakeholders is essential, and you will also create AI agents to innovate our cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Cloud Infrastructure DevOps automation solutions.
  • Debug and resolve day‑to‑day issues during automated deployments.
  • Design and develop enhancements and new automation projects using AWS CloudFormation, Python, Shell/Powershell.
  • Own and manage the lifecycle of specific automation tools.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Operations, and DB teams.
  • Innovate and create AI agents to improve cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS Cloud; manage resources via Console, Command Line, and APIs.
  • Experience scripting AWS resources with CloudFormation and Python.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Working knowledge of Boto3.
  • Hands‑on experience with Shell scripting or PowerShell.
  • Experience with Ansible or Puppet.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket/SVN, Jenkins/TeamCity.
  • Basic administrative skills for Linux and Windows.
  • Database knowledge (SQL: MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Knowledge or experience creating AI‑based agents or solutions.
Nice to Have
  • Knowledge or experience with Rundeck.
  • Knowledge of Artifactory.
