Job Title: Data Center Operations EngineerLocation: Memphis, Tennessee (100% Onsite)Contract Duration: 10 monthsPay Rate: $45/hr - $50/hrNote: We are not able to consider C2C or third-party submissions

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to provide operational support in a dynamic, 100% onsite environment. This role involves hardware repair, system maintenance, and coordination with various teams to ensure the operational readiness of the data center. The position requires a flexible schedule, including the ability to support after-hours and weekend work as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Open and manage service requests; triage and coordinate break/fix activities.
  • Provide day-to-day data center operational support.
  • Escort and coordinate with dispatched field engineers.
  • Manage parts shipping, receiving, and inventory.
  • Maintain and update environment documentation, such as serial numbers, elevations, and runbooks.
  • Coordinate with colocation teams for power, cooling, and facility maintenance activities.
  • Execute customer-directed system and version updates.
  • Proactively monitor servers and notify customers of issues.
  • Perform troubleshooting, log collection, and follow vendor-recommended resolutions.
  • Support firmware upgrades and hardware break/fix activities, including parts replacement and hardware deployment.
  • Perform OS installation, GPU configuration, and system testing to ensure operational readiness.
  • Handle urgent issues as they arise, serving as an escalation and coordination point.
  • Manage and track tickets.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with hardware repair and replacing parts inside servers.
  • Basic network experience.
  • Experience reading Linux logs.
  • Linux command-line interface (CLI) experience.
  • Strong customer communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively within an onsite team.
  • Ability to lift 65 pounds and work on a ladder.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Field Service Engineer (FSE) experience is a plus.
  • RoCE network experience.
  • Nvidia GPU/NIC experience.
