We are seeking a Business SME Tester to help lead user acceptance testing for a major state health insurance marketplace transition!

Position Details

  • Role: Business Subject Matter Expert / UAT Lead
  • Work Arrangement: 100% Remote (Must reside & work within the USA)
  • Location: Salem, Oregon, USA
  • Interview Mode: MS Teams (Webcam) or In-Person

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead UAT Testing: Analyze user stories, build test cases, execute end-to-end manual testing, and manage the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
  • System Integration: Validate eligibility, enrollment workflows, account transfers, and integrations between the state health marketplace and Medicaid systems.
  • Defect Management: Log, track, and triage bugs using Jira and Azure DevOps.
  • SME Guidance: Partner with Agile delivery teams, business partners, and external vendors to ensure system logic aligns with health policy and regulatory rules.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Expertise:

  • HIX & ACA Domain: Deep knowledge of Health Insurance Exchanges (SBM / SBM-FP), ACA rules, APTC/CSR eligibility, and MAGI Medicaid account transfers.
  • Advanced UAT & QA: Proven track record in UAT test scenario design, manual execution, defect analysis, and test data management.
  • Tooling: Hands-on proficiency in Jira and Azure DevOps.
  • Methodologies: Strong background in Agile/Scrum and complete SDLC workflows.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with state Medicaid eligibility engines (e.g., ONE system integration).
  • Exposure to vendor platforms like GetInsured.
  • Basic understanding of test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright) and accessibility standards (WCAG).
