Developmental Disabilities Coaches often work with clients who have diverse and complex needs, which can sometimes present behavioral, communication, or motivational challenges. To address this, coaches receive ongoing training, collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (such as therapists, educators, and family members), and utilize evidence-based strategies tailored to each individual. The work environment encourages regular team meetings and supervision to discuss cases, share resources, and troubleshoot difficulties. This collaborative approach helps ensure coaches are well-supported and able to provide the highest quality of care and guidance to their clients.
To thrive as a Developmental Disabilities Coach, you need a background in social work, psychology, or special education, supported by relevant experience or certifications such as CPR/First Aid and possibly a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential. Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior tracking software, and crisis intervention techniques is often required. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to motivate and communicate effectively with clients and families help set candidates apart. These competencies are crucial as they ensure individualized support, progress tracking, and positive outcomes for individuals with developmental disabilities.
A Developmental Disabilities Coach supports individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and improving life skills. They work closely with clients to develop personalized plans, provide guidance on daily activities, and encourage social and personal growth. Coaches may also assist with job training, community integration, and accessing resources. Their goal is to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives while ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.

At Youth Athletes United our mission is to Empower children through sport by teaching them how to have fun while learning the fundamentals of the sport.
We are looking for youth development coaches to join our Little Rookies Baseball program. We believe in the power of baseball to positively impact children and support their physical and personal development. Beyond establishing a foundation for proper baseball techniques, our program is designed to help children build self-confidence, embrace teamwork, develop sportsmanship and learn the importance of physical activity, all while having fun!
Lead Coaches earn $40 Per Session!
Candidates are recommended to be fully vaccinated upon commencing employment, subject to legally required exemptions. Legal exemptions include but are not limited to, medical condition, disability or sincerely-held religious belief; some regions may require full vaccination upon hiring due to state-specific mandates. Proof of vaccination in those states will be required and will be requested in the other regions.
