Job description

As a Leadership Academy Youth Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering the growth and development of young individuals within the community. You will be responsible for building strong, positive relationships with youth participants, serving as a role model, providing guidance, and facilitating various educational and skill-building activities. By helping youth develop leadership skills, self-confidence, and a sense of purpose, you will contribute to their success in both the short and long term.


  • Mentorship: Build and maintain strong mentor-mentee relationships with youth participants in the Leadership Academy.
  • Personal Development: Assist mentees in setting personal and academic goals, and provide guidance on how to achieve them.
  • Leadership Skills: Design and deliver workshops, activities, and discussions that focus on leadership development, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
  • Role Modeling: Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and a positive attitude as a role model for mentees.
  • Emotional Support: Provide a safe and supportive environment for youth to express themselves, discuss challenges, and develop emotional intelligence.
  • Program Coordination: Collaborate with the program coordinator to plan and execute various Leadership Academy events, seminars, and outings.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess mentees' progress towards their goals and provide constructive feedback to help them grow.
